Extend your professional scope and become a Forest Therapy Tourist Guide (FTTG) certified by and accredited with the International Nature and Forest Therapy Alliance (INFTA) (Professional Training Course Code: HLTFTT32125). INFTA-Certified FTTGs offer unique wellbeing experiences to tourists in scenic and relaxing surroundings. The training is suitable for staff and consultants working at spas, resorts, hotels and wellness centers as well as those promoting health & wellbeing. INFTA’s training adheres to the International Core Curriculum for Forest Therapy (ICCFT) validated by 120+ experts from over 20 countries in Asia, Europe, America and Australia in 2017.

The three-day introductory workshop will be conducted during the weekend 12-14 September 2025 at the beautifully located Tranquil Wild, nestled away from the hustle and bustle of Colombo, near Thanamalwila. The training location, Tranquil Wild, is a boutique resort beautifully maintained and, indeed, tranquil, perfectly suited for conducting FTTG training. The nearby Lunugamvehara National Park and the Mirijjawila Dry Zone Botanic Gardens at Hambantota offer additional nature surroundings complementing the professional, secluded and effective FTTG training.
This Forest Therapy Tourist Guide Training is primarily open to Sri Lankan citizens working in the tourism industry. However, applications from citizens of other Global South countries will also be considered. Applications will be processed on a first-come, first-serve basis as there are 15 exclusive training places available. The language of instruction is English, but we will accommodate for Sinhala-speaking applicants, too.

These abilities are recommended due to the nature and responsibilities of Forest Therapy Tourist Guides. Also, a current First Aid certificate (which may be acquired separately from other training providers prior to the final exam) and adequate insurance coverage are recommended for each FTTG trainee.
The INFTA Forest Therapy Guide Training is delivered by experienced and INFTA-Certified and Accredited Forest Therapy Guides, dedicated mentors and lecturers (all having tertiary degrees and specialized in their subject area).
The INFTA Forest Therapy Guide Training is conducted by Susan V. Joachim, President INFTA. She was born in Sri Lanka and was instrumental in developing this innovative training.
The INFTA Forest Therapy Guide Training is quality-assured and monitored by Dr. Dieter Kotte, Honorary Associate Professor, Faculty of Health, Deakin University, Australia.

The fees for the full-fledged, three-months training course (Professional Training Course Code: HLTFTT32125, September to December 2025) amount to only USD 1,500.- (incl. VAT). Minor bank charges for the credit card transaction will have to be incurred. The total fees are equivalent to about LKR 450,000.- (exchange rate as of 6 April 2025; please note that this exchange rate may vary if you apply from within Sri Lanka).
The fees include all deliverables, such as the three-day introductory workshop (Tranquil Wild, 12-14 September 2025; incl. training fee, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea) and the subsequent three-months supervised and mentored INFTA-Certified Forest Therapy Tourist Guide Training (at a location of your choice). Please feel free to arrange for your own accommodation in or around Thanamalwila, where our workshop venue, Tranquil Wild, is located.
The fees will have to be paid upfront.
Payment can be made via credit card in USD. Fees do not cover accommodation, transport, insurance or any third-party certificates to be obtained or required. Cancellation is possible any time prior to 1 August 2025; any cancellation must be submitted to INFTA in written and carries a cancellation fee of USD 100.-.
