INFTA’s Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

 

INFTA follows the recommended guidelines and policies with regards to Child Safety as issued by the Victorian State Government.

INFTA has zero tolerance for child abuse and any form of harming children. INFTA is committed to child safety and wellbeing. INFTA acts in accordance with the Child Safe Standards, compulsory minimum standards for all organisations in Victoria providing services to children under the age of 18 years.

INFTA, its staff and its Accredited Training Providers actively endorse the:

• wellbeing, safety, participation and empowerment of children
• promotion of cultural safety, participation and empowerment of children from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds
• establishment and continuous improvement of Child Safety, Child Safe policies and supporting procedures
• involvement of the community and families, where possible, in promoting child safety and the wellbeing of children
  
• minimization of any risk to the safety and wellbeing of children in both online and physical environments
• prevention of child abuse by regularly training and educating our staff, trainees, volunteers and clients to identifying risks early, and work on removing and reducing those risks
• taking of all reasonable steps and exercising the necessary due diligence in recruitment, that all staff, trainees, volunteers and clients, where applicable, hold a valid Working with Children Check
• provision of clear, fair and transparent processes in responding to and reporting adequately about actual or suspected child abuse; and
• modelling of Child Safe Standards by all members of INFTA.
