The Challenge:
Ms Nan Cheng, based in Beijing, was inspired to pursue a career as a Forest Therapy Guide (FTG) but required a training program that was both internationally credible and firmly rooted in scientific evidence. She needed the confidence and practical guidance to apply this emerging discipline effectively within China’s vast and diverse regions.

The Solution:
Ms Cheng enrolled in the online INFTA-Certified Forest Therapy Guide training program in January 2024. The curriculum, supported by extensive learning resources and personalized mentorship from Dr. Dieter Kotte, emphasized evidence-based practice and practical application. She deepened her understanding of her local bioregion through guided “Sit Spot” practices and planning activities, and further enriched her experience by attending an in-person workshop in Kyoto, Japan, in June 2024.

The Results:
Qualifying as an INFTA-Certified Forest Therapy Guide in November 2024, Ms Cheng felt equipped and inspired to share the health, well-being, and beauty of forest therapy. The training not only fostered a deeper connection to nature within herself but also provided concrete guidance for integrating her new expertise into future projects and local communities across China’s national parks, urban parks, and ancient forests. INFTA opened a definitive door to a profound new career path.

“The training has been both inspiring and professionally enriching… INFTA has opened a door for me, leading to a profound connection between humans and nature, while also guiding the path forward.”
