PROJECTS

In the pipeline are, for example, research projects in Germany, Australia and the EU. Of primary concern is to replicate some of the key findings from Japan and South Korea about the effectiveness, medical and physiological properties of phytoncides. Phytoncides are bioactive substances emitted by trees as part of their own immune systems which have been found to exert beneficial health effects on the human body (e.g., lowering the blood pressure, lowering the heart rate, stimulating so-called natural killer cells to be produced which act as anti-cancer agents).

There are also a number of ongoing and scheduled projects with other groups and organizations, active in the area of health promotion or environmental concern, such as Parks Victoria and Outdoors Victoria.
