The objectives of the workshop are:

  • learn about evidence-based Forest Therapy
  • find out about direct and indirect benefits of Forest Therapy
  • identify the pathways to certification as a Forest Therapy Guide

Outline of the workshop:
Presentation by Dr. Dieter Kotte to learn about the science behind Forest Therapy and how the practice is applied in various therapeutic settings. Includes the opportunity to participate in interactive group exercises and to put forward your questions in the Q&A session.

Workshop content:
Forest Therapy is a research-based, preventative and curative Public health practice which is gaining wide global recognition due to its effectivness to combat lifestyle diseases. During this workshop, participants will learn about the history and developments of the practice and the areas of application for health and well-being, including counselling and psychotherapy. The workshop will also present the standards recognized by the International Core Curriculum of Forest Therapy (ICCFT) in the training and certification of Forest Therapy Guides. The ICCFT framework will be unpacked to inform participants about the pathways towards full accreditation to practice globally.
